How to become a member of
the Bessie Road church family:

You become a member of Bessie Road by walking to the front of the sanctuary during the invitation hymn.  Someone will be there to meet you and counsel with you regarding your desire to become a member.  There are four types of decisions that may be made in relation to joining the church:

Profession of Faith and request for Baptism:  “I know I am a sinner and I want to give my life to Jesus.  I accept His death of the cross and His resurrection as truth.  I believe trusting in Him is the only way that I can be saved and forgiven of my sins.  I want to learn more about what it means to be a Christian.”

Prior Profession of Faith and Request for Baptism:  “I gave my life to Jesus at an earlier time.  I have not followed the Lord in baptism by immersion as a symbol of my commitment to Christ and I want to be baptized and serve Christ at Bessie Road.”

Transfer my membership from another Baptist church:  “I gave my life to Christ at an earlier time, was baptized by immersion, and I want to join Bessie Road and serve Christ.”

Statement of Faith and Previous Baptism:  “I gave my life to Christ at an earlier time and was baptized by immersion and I want to join with Bessie Road and serve Christ.
